For Your Nūrain Jewellery

Care Guide

At Nūrain, every piece is crafted from precious materials, sterling silver, solid 18k gold, and carefully applied layers of 24k gold plating.

Our mission is to make fine jewellery accessible to all, while keeping its beauty lasting as long as possible. In order to provide our customers with a variety of options, we have also provided a gold-plating option. However, it is very important to note that gold-plating on silver is fragile and will not last forever. These pieces need to be maintained by replating from time to time as the plating will wear down, especially with daily use. However, because we use sterling silver as our base material, this is a process that can easily be done by any local jeweller in your area.

To help preserve your pieces, we recommend the following care practices:

1. Storing Your Jewellery

• Keep your jewellery pieces in their individual box or pouch to avoid scratches and tangling.

• Delicate pieces should be stored flat or hung straight to prevent thread breakage.

• Wrap pieces in a soft cotton cloth before storage to maintain their shine and prevent surface damage.

2. Protecting Surfaces

• Avoid contact with hard or abrasive surfaces to prevent scratches and blemishes.

• Take extra care with engraved details, as these are more delicate.

3. Wearing with Care

• Gold-plated jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.

• Remove pieces before showering, exercising, swimming, or housework to protect the gold plating and silver base.

• Keep away from perfumes, creams, and household chemicals—they accelerate fading and tarnish.

4. Understanding Gold Plating

• Our gold plating allows you to enjoy the look and feel of fine gold jewellery at a more accessible price.

• In order to ensure that your pieces will last, we have ensured that the base material is sterling silver, which means it can easily be replated by any professional jeweller, restoring its original brilliance and ensuring that the piece will last.

5. Silver and Oxidation

• Sterling silver may oxidize if stored for long periods without use.

• The best way to keep silver bright is to wear it often, as natural movement helps prevent tarnish.

• If tarnish develops, gently polish with a silver cleaning cloth for non-plated jewellery only. Take care as this can wear down the engraving details over time.

6. Longevity Tips

• Always remove jewellery before contact with water, pools, or beaches, as these speed up wear.

• Handle chains and clasps gently to avoid stretching or breakage.

• With proper care, your jewellery can last for years and be replated when needed, giving it a renewed life.

A Note from Nūrain
